This has been a whirlwind of a year emotionally. I was listening to a podcast and the speaker referred to year 2020 as the “sacred pause”. Hmmmmmm, did you pause this year?
Covid brought the entire world to a halt. Businesses, schools, employment, social life immediately came to an end. We were forced to slow down, reflect and be intentional. There was time for relationships, time for communication, time for family, time to grow your business, time to workout, time to grow spiritually and more.
I believe everyone experienced some sort of a sacred pause (even if they didn’t want to) because these past months created a lot of time and opportunity for reflection and soul searching.
What changed for you as a result of the pause?
Now what’s next? How can we bounce back and still remain productive this year?
As we close out this quarter and begin to close out 2020 there are “2” very important things that you should focus on end the year strong:
Practice gratitude daily- think about how fast the world shut down in a blink of an eye. Think about where you are now and practice gratitude. In every obstacle or situation something always comes out of it. What is it for you? Be grateful! Speak it! Write it! Share it!
Stop 🛑 procrastinating! – we lost a legendary actor “T-Challa”, “ Black Panther” actor Chadwick Boseman amongst many others lives this year. Chadwick silently battled cancer for 4 years since the Black Panther movie and continued to make movies, appearances etc. What is holding you back? What would you do if you knew you only had the next 4 years to live. What would you fight to accomplish? What relationships would you mend? What would you launch?
Practicing gratitude and constantly staying in action will not only help you to focus on what matters but will ensure you stay productive and no longer just “busy”.
Make it a safe yet fun Labor Day!
P.S. What came to light for you over these past months?? Hit Reply and comment- I would love to read your responses.
This clearly has been a difficult time for most during the last 5 months dealing with Covid-19, losses of family and friends, close ones losing jobs etc. It has truly been a trying time. Most of you know that I am a Registered Nurse by trade, still working as a leader in the hospital setting during this pandemic. I am grateful to GOD for having a job during these trying times. I could complain about having to go to work every day and possibly getting to be exposed to the virus or staying at home without an income, so I pick my battles.
A great thing occurred in the midst of the pandemic, I received a promotion to a Director role in Nursing. Look at God! One thing I know for sure is that being confident in what my gifts are and knowing my worth-what I bring to the table, attributed to me receiving this promotion.
Once you are clear about who you are, what you offer and what your gifts are, you can speak to the results you bring, cast the vision for others to see and build followers to help you to achieve it.
So, here are the three strategies you will need to know and do in order to advance to the next level in your career or business .
What Do You Offer?: The first thing you have to do is be crystal clear on what you can offer . What do you bring to the table ? I know my gift is administration and leadership. I am also a Shepherd and I help to move people in one accord, I help the lost. With these gifts I pour into others to achieve one common goal. I would recommend that you search online and take a spiritual gifts test so that you can clearly know what your gifts are and how you can apply it to your profession or business. This way you are aware of you strengths and what areas you can exceed in.
What Do You Want? : The second thing you must to be clear on is what do you want? If you want a promotion and that advancement to the next level, you have to be clear on exactly what it is that you want. This will help you to decipher from the things you do not want . Clarity is everything for the next level and for any advancement, or accomplishment. You must be certain not to muddy the waters with too much activities that will keep you busy and not productive, therefore hindering you from reaching your next level. Get Clear!!
Will You Work For It? : Finally, you have to be willing to work for it. Work hard like it depends on you but knowing that this is something you are destined for by God. You deserve it! Plus, if this opportunity was not for you how could you ever envision it. Once you can see it, you can achieve it, so you have to believe that this is for you . If God has clearly planted the vision within you then you must know that it’s within your reach, so you have to work for it and know that this is for YOU!
Think about these three things knowing your gifts , being clear about what you want , and working hard towards it and think about how you can apply these three strategies in your career or business to advance to the next level .

P.S. Would love to hear from you…. What are some topics you would like me to touch on? I’m looking forward to your response.
It certainly has been one heck of a year. We are currently in July with less than 6 months to go in 2020 and it has been quite eventful.
One thing I can say for sure is that the pandemic and the recent events with George Floyd and many others have really provided an opportunity for the world to be still and open our eyes to see what’s really going on around us.
The pandemic has certainly slowed me down and re-shifted my focus. It made me really think about the things that are truly important like prayer and time with family. As a front-line worker I surely had to pray for my safety and that of my family multiple times a day.
Although I was still busy with work, I actually spoke with more people over the phone, connected with folks more than ever, and had more family time. I mean the hustle and bustle stopped! 🛑
Vanity certainly went out the window for me along with many others with the closing of barbershops, beauty salons, nail salons, gyms etc. and my husband became a gourmet chef.
These enduring times really helped me to realize one thing and one thing for sure, there are a lot of things I can truly do without that I thought I needed and what I thought I didn’t need or didn’t have time for I truly did need.
What about you?
What is the one thing you learned during this pandemic?
Hit reply and share with me. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Next week I will share more about how being clear on my gifts and talents made room for a promotion during the pandemic.
Are your emotions leading you down the wrong path and affecting your decision-making?
Do you keep questioning yourself ….”Should I start a business”, “Do I know enough people?”, “Can I be successful?”⠀
Here are three ways to help you win over your negative emotions:⠀⠀
Remember the beliefs and values you’re committed to. Know what you believe in and your values. Tap into your spiritual connection through prayer, and meditation. Use these actions as a means to reverse negative thoughts and emotions⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stick to your committed beliefs and values and to overcome your negative emotions . Don’t steer away from your beliefs and values when your negative emotions start to kick in. Create an affirmation that you can repeat whenever negative emotions start to kick in. This can help you increase self-belief and to remain committed and consistent when overcoming negative emotions ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Surround yourself around positive people. Contact your mentor, coach or like-minded friend, or even think about changing your environment. Go for a walk, workout, yoga etc., These are a few ways you can change your state and become more positive.
Your emotions will destroy your piece of kind, cloud your judgement and your ability to make decisions, especially negative emotions.
Don’t let negative emotions define your life and business. Live life by your commitments and not your feelings!

No Excuses! 🛑⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hi , I can remember a time when I was struggling to consistently build my side
business while working full-time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had every excuse, I’m tired, my family needs me, I don’t feel like it, I don’t have enough time etc. At the end of the year I realized so much time had passed and I was not a productive as I could have been.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had to seriously reflect and make a decision. Either I would continue to make excuses or I can operate in my purpose. When I made the decision that I would no longer make excuses that was when my business changed drastically!
One thing I did to maximize productivity and consistency waste create non-negotiable time in my daily schedule just for business building. This helped me to overcome my “ I don’t have time” excuse.
What excuses are keeping you from creating and experiencing all you desire?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s time to stop making excuses and start making $cents!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know it’s been a while since I reached out but just know that it’s all for a good cause. I am a frontline worker in the hospital 5 days a week preparing and battling this Covid-19 pandemic.
One thing I have come to realize is that God surely has a way of humbling you and making you slow down. It’s safe to say that this Pandemic has put a whole lot of things into perspective for me.
I am certainly resting more, praying more than ever, creatively spending more time with family, appreciating conversations over text messages,
staying productive and remaining grateful.
This is definitely a time to reflect on the things that matter most, re-strategize on how you can be your best and use this time to create an intentional plan to launch that dream you’ve always wanted to pursue.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t rush the process….be still, grateful and intentional during these times.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So you did all the research, asked all the questions and contemplated for quite some time now. What is holding you back from making the decision.
Most often people are comfortable in their discomfort. They are unhappy with their current situation yet not uncomfortable enough to make a move. Fear is the main reason but think about this, is the fear of making a move greater than staying where you are year after year?
Can you imagine repeating the same struggles and unhappiness in 2021, 2022, 2023 and beyond?? What would it look like if you took a step towards your dreams and accomplished them? What would your new life look and feel like? Take a moment and imagine it today.
Every four years we add an extra day to the calendar in what is called a leap year so in essence you get an extra day. Take some time this day and think about your ideal life? What it will take to get there and what is truly stopping you? Are YOU stopping YOU?
Weigh your options, if you took the leap vs how things will be if you stayed the same.
I guarantee you the leap is well worth it!
You are worth it!
You deserve it all!
Have an amazing Leap Day!!
Until Next Time,
