Incorporating gratitude into your financial plan opens up doors for you to make better money decisions.

When you embody a sense of gratitude with your finances you’re not:

  • making decisions out of lack,
  • You’re able to be more generous and
  • You will make better financial decisions.

This pandemic definitely had a financial impact on millions of people in one way or another. I don’t want you to focus on the negative.

Is Gratitude Good For Your Overall Wellness ?

Gratitude is the appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself. Experiencing gratitude, thankfulness, and appreciation tends to foster positive feelings, which in turn, contribute to one’s overall sense of well being.

Wellness is not just made up of your weight and image. Wellness comprises your mental health, physical, and spiritual health.

Wellness also includes how you feel about yourself. Are you practicing self-care or burning yourself out trying to be Superwoman 🦸🏽‍♀️ for everyone else?

It’s time to take the cape off for once and think about where you are in your wellness journey.

Did you know that people who spend more time experiencing gratitude spend less time experiencing aches and pains and going to doctors.

Think about what you are grateful for while thinking of ☝🏾 way to improve your overall wellness.

How will you show up for you and your overall wellness this Gratitude week through 2021?

Share one thing you will commit to do to improve your overall wellness.

What Relationships Are You Grateful For?⠀

What relationships are you grateful for?

Spend some time reflecting on them.⠀

The holiday season is the best time to get together share food, fun, laughs and create memories with friends and family. This is something to be grateful for.⠀

Although this pandemic is placing restrictions on our normal gatherings, be creative in connecting. Whether through phone calls , Zooms, FaceTime or drive by’s, use creative ways to reach out to those you love. ⠀

Holiday time is also a good times to remember loved ones that you have lost and be grateful for all the awesome memories you have shared.⠀

Who Is In Your Circle?

How you spend your time is very important, but what’s even more important is who you surround yourself with.

Take a moment to analyze your circle and ask yourself self these questions:

Do they motivate you?

Can you learn from them?

Do they inspire you?

If you’ve answered “no” to any of these questions, then it’s time to up- level your circle of influence and it may be time to separate yourself from your current circle.

Stop being the smartest person in your clique and look to connect with people that can make you smarter.

It is common to outgrow your current circle but you can continue to love them from a distance as you are working on your next level.

Find yourself a mentor and folks that are 5 steps or more ahead of you and learn from them.

It took me taking a leap of faith by moving to another state and changing my entire circle in order to expose me to a whole different level of thinking and living.

Not everyone can be apart of your journey 💙 but you can certainly be intentional on who you journey with!

Until Next Time,

Two Crucial Steps To Close The Year Out Strong!

Happy Labor Day!

Summer is coming to an end.

This has been a whirlwind of a year emotionally. I was listening to a podcast and the speaker referred to year 2020 as the “sacred pause”. Hmmmmmm, did you pause this year?

Covid brought the entire world to a halt. Businesses, schools, employment, social life immediately came to an end. We were forced to slow down, reflect and be intentional. There was time for relationships, time for communication, time for family, time to grow your business, time to workout, time to grow spiritually and more.

I believe everyone experienced some sort of a sacred pause (even if they didn’t want to) because these past months created a lot of time and opportunity for reflection and soul searching.

What changed for you as a result of the pause?

Now what’s next? How can we bounce back and still remain productive this year?

As we close out this quarter and begin to close out 2020 there are “2” very important things that you should focus on end the year strong:

  1. Practice gratitude daily- think about how fast the world shut down in a blink of an eye. Think about where you are now and practice gratitude. In every obstacle or situation something always comes out of it. What is it for you? Be grateful! Speak it! Write it! Share it!
  2. Stop 🛑 procrastinating! – we lost a legendary actor “T-Challa”, “ Black Panther” actor Chadwick Boseman amongst many others lives this year. Chadwick silently battled cancer for 4 years since the Black Panther movie and continued to make movies, appearances etc. What is holding you back? What would you do if you knew you only had the next 4 years to live. What would you fight to accomplish? What relationships would you mend? What would you launch?

Practicing gratitude and constantly staying in action will not only help you to focus on what matters but will ensure you stay productive and no longer just “busy”.

Make it a safe yet fun Labor Day!

Three Strategies To Advance to the Next Level in Your Career or Business.

This clearly has been a difficult time for most during the last 5 months dealing with Covid-19, losses of family and friends, close ones losing jobs etc. It has truly been a trying time. Most of you know that I am a Registered Nurse by trade, still working as a leader in the hospital setting during this pandemic. I am grateful to GOD for having a job during these trying times. I could complain about having to go to work every day and possibly getting  to be exposed to the virus or staying at home without an income, so I pick my battles.

A great thing occurred in the midst of the pandemic, I received a promotion to a Director role in Nursing. Look at God! One thing I know for sure is that being confident in what my gifts are and knowing my worth-what I bring to the table, attributed to me receiving this promotion.

Once you are clear about who you are, what you offer and what your gifts are, you can speak to the results you bring, cast the vision for others to see and  build followers to help you to achieve it.

So, here are the three strategies you will need to know and do in order to advance to the next level in your career or business .

  1. What Do You Offer?: The first thing you have to do is be crystal clear on what you can offer . What do you bring to the table ? I know my gift is administration and leadership. I am also a Shepherd and I help to move people in one accord, I help the lost. With these gifts I pour into others to achieve one common goal.  I would recommend that you search online and  take a spiritual gifts test so that you can clearly know what your gifts are and how you can apply it to your profession or business. This way you are aware of you strengths and what areas you can exceed in.
  • What Do You Want? : The second thing you must to be clear on is what do you want? If you want a promotion and that advancement to the next level, you have to be clear on exactly what it is that you want. This will help you to decipher from the things you do not want . Clarity is everything for the next level and for any advancement, or accomplishment.  You must be  certain not to muddy the waters with too much activities that will keep you busy and not productive, therefore hindering you from reaching your next level. Get Clear!!
  • Will You Work For It? : Finally, you have to be willing to work for it. Work hard like it depends on you but knowing that this is something you are destined for by God. You deserve it! Plus, if this opportunity was not for you how could you ever envision it.  Once you can see it, you can achieve it, so you have to believe that this is for you . If God has clearly planted the vision within you then you must know that it’s within your reach, so you have to work for it and know that this is for YOU!

Think about these three things knowing your gifts , being clear about what you want , and working hard towards it and think about how you can apply these three strategies in your career or business to advance to the next level .

The One Thing I Learned During This Pandemic.

It certainly has been one heck of a year. We are currently in July with less than 6 months to go in 2020 and it has been quite eventful.

One thing I can say for sure is that the pandemic and the recent events with George Floyd and many others have really provided an opportunity for the world to be still and open our eyes to see what’s really going on around us.

The pandemic has certainly slowed me down and re-shifted my focus. It made me really think about the things that are truly important like prayer and time with family. As a front-line worker I surely had to pray for my safety and that of my family multiple times a day.

Although I was still busy with work, I actually spoke with more people over the phone, connected with folks more than ever, and had more family time. I mean the hustle and bustle stopped! 🛑

Vanity certainly went out the window for me along with many others with the closing of barbershops, beauty salons, nail salons, gyms etc. and my husband became a gourmet chef.

These enduring times really helped me to realize one thing and one thing for sure, there are a lot of things I can truly do without that I thought I needed and what I thought I didn’t need or didn’t have time for I truly did need.

What about you?

What is the one thing you learned during this pandemic?

Hit reply and share with me. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Next week I will share more about how being clear on my gifts and talents made room for a promotion during the pandemic.
